Precious Moment in TADIKUM - Day 3 (Jiah Yee)
DAY 3
This was
our third trip and also the last activity for our social engagement course. We
went to TADIKUM which is a kindergarten for the kids of the staffs or
lecturers that work in the University of Malaya. We bought a lot of biscuits
and sweets for the kids before we went there. The kids are divided to three different groups according to the kids’ ages and I was assigned to the 5 years old
group. We have spent a great time with them on that day.
Before enter the classroom, the teacher played a
music video on the television and let the kids dance along with the music.
After ice breaking session, we distributed blank
papers to every kids and ask them to draw anything related to “My Birthday”.
When some kids don't know how to draw something that they wish to draw, they
will come to us and ask us to teach them.
After drawing session, it was their break time.
They were enjoying the food that provided by the staff and some of them ate the
food that they brought from home.
Next, we taught them make the butterfly origami .
They were so happy after successfully making it and kept showing it to each other.
During their nap time, some of the kids woke up
earlier for the Taekwando session. We helped them wear the uniform and get
ready for their training class.
After a few hours spending with the kids, we felt really tired but at the same time so happy to get closer with them. We truly understood the difficulty
of becoming a teacher full with patient and friendliness. I hope that we have
played a good role as a teacher to the kids and taught them some knowledge or
skills.
Last but not least, we have a group photo with the
teachers, staffs and some of the kids J
